Man, can I just tell you how much I hate MTV's website. I don't mean to rag on them and all, but the thing just has way too much going on. I guess it was built for those teens and pre-teens who need to constantly change the subject every five seconds. That's fantastic, but it sure does give me a headache. Anyway, MTV has the first full-length trailer of Dreamgirls up on their site, and boy does this film look HOT.
Directed by Bill Condon, pic stars Beyoncé Knowles, Eddie Murphy, Jamie Foxx, Danny Glover, Anika Noni Rose and Jennifer Hudson (who you American Idol fanatics might remember from the Fantasia season). Based on the Broadway musical, story surrounds the life and times of an all-girl singing group from the early 1960's who, with help from some new management, cross over to the pop charts and hit it big time. Can I just tell you how much I loved this trailer. Then again, I really dig that kind of music, so for someone who generally listens to hardcore heavy metal, Dreamgirls may not be your cup of tea. Watch out folks, a few Oscar nods are bound to make it out of this flick. Dreamgirls heats up the big screen this Christmas. Now go watch it and tell us what you think.
