UPDATE: On November 4, Pastor Haggard, who is featured in the documentary Jesus Camp, admitted that he had lied to and misled reporters in recent interviews, and that he has had a "lifelong sexual problem." Haggard called himself a "deceiver and a liar" in a letter read to his congregation by Pastor Larry Stockstill, a member of the board of overseers of the 14,000 member New Life church that on Saturday fired Haggard for sexual misconduct. Haggard founded the church 20 years ago.

Mike Jones, the former prostitute who's outing of Haggard started the ball rolling on all this controversy, said that he decided to come forward and expose the religious leader when he realized who Haggard was -- and because Haggard has publicly backed the amendment against gay marriage on the Colorado ballot on Tuesday. "For someone who is up there preaching that marriage should only be between a man and a woman, and he's going behind his wife's back and seeing a gay man for sex -- I felt like I owed it to the gay community to expose the hypocrisy," Jones said.
