What It's About: A who's who of Hollywood A-listers (including Jennifer Aniston, Scarlett Johansson, Drew Barrymore and Ben Affleck) pose as an intermingling posse of romantics looking for love in all the wrong places.
It's Kind of Like: 'Sex and the City of Baltimore'
What We Say: It's hard to imagine anyone being into just how outlandishly pathetic this rom-com's lead character (Ginnifer Goodwin) is in her approach to men and dating ... is she really supposed to represent the average female? Aside from that, and some utter predictability, guys could do far worse in terms of date night DVDs.

What It's About: Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet are the furthest thing from their 'Titanic' lovers as a young married couple who turn into miserable beings when they settle in the suburbs.
It's Kind of Like: 'War of the Roses' with more heavy drama, less De Vito
What We Say: The acting is phenomenal: DiCaprio delivers one of his best performances yet, and was snubbed by the Oscars; Winslet may even be better here than in 'The Reader,' while Michael Shannon chews scenery as a resident of Crazytown. But aside for theater majors looking for an acting clinic, it's tough to recommend such a joyless, emotionally wrenching tale (want to watch people scream at each other for two hours?) to anyone.

What It's About: When the Nazis invade town and kill their parents, the Bielski brothers (Daniel Craig, Liev Schreiber and Jamie Bell) escape to the Belarussian forest, where they exact some brief revenge before forming a safe camp for other Jewish escapees.
It's Kind of Like: 'Schindler's List' meets 'The Dirty Dozen'
What We Say: Nobody does war like director Ed Zwick ('Glory,' 'Courage Under Fire,' 'Blood Diamond'). Despite its conventions, 'Defiance' is a powerful and moving epic that deserved more love when it opened last December (the film scored a modest 56 percent approval rating from critics on RottenTomatoes).
