Over the past two decades, Tim Burton and Johnny Depp have teamed up to create a handful of complex, indelible and downright strange characters, from a shy scissor-handed boy in 'Edward Scissorhands' to a misanthropic candy maker in 'Charlie in the Chocolate Factory' to a demonic barber in 'Sweeney Todd.'

In their latest collaboration, Depp dons copious amounts of makeup, some extremely orange hair and, of course, a top hat to play the tea-party-loving Mad Hatter in Burton's reimagining of 'Alice in Wonderland.' In addition to scoring a batch of new photos from 'Wonderland,' we recently caught up with Depp at the press junket for his new John Dillinger flick 'Public Enemies' and had the opportunity to ask him what we can expect from a 'Wonderland' shaped by the slightly off-kilter mind of Mr. Burton. See what Depp had to say on the subject -- as well as photos of Anne Hathaway as the White Queen and Mia Wasikowska as Alice -- after the jump, then come back to Moviefone next week for our full interview with Johnny.
