Julie and JuliaThe new movie 'Julie & Julia' is based on two memoirs: that of Julia Child (Meryl Streep), who moved to Paris as a diplomat's wife and became one of the most influential food writers of our time; and that of blogger Julie Powell (Amy Adams), who, bored with her cubicle job, decided to cook her way through Child's 'Mastering the Art of French Cooking' over the course of one year.

Though 'Julie & Julia' tells the stories of these two women, what it's really about -- and what has foodies everywhere excited for its arrival -- is food. Cooking it. Eating it. Enjoying it as one of life's greatest pleasures. When Streep, as Child, goes into ecstasy over her first bite of fish in a Parisian restaurant, we know exactly how she feels.

In between salivating over Julia Child's boeuf Bourguignon and sympathizing with Julie Powell's kitchen meltdowns, we started daydreaming about our favorite movie food scenes. And then we ate a whole roast chicken. Bon appetit!
