What It's About: Realizing he doesn't have any close male friends, a recently engaged, lovably uncool real estate agent (Paul Rudd) sets out on a series of man-dates. He soon falls truly, madly, deeply in friendship with off-the-wall alpha male Jason Segel. Rashida Jones co-stars as the third-wheel fiancé.
It's Kind of Like: 'When Harry Met Sally,' for dudes
What We Say: Just when we were ready to give up on the truly played out "bromance," into our lives walked this instant comedy classic (and, yes, definitive bromance). Rudd -- whose uproarious and improvised attempts at sounding hip provide the biggest laughs -- takes one step closer to the title of Hollywood's Funniest Man. Yeah I'll say it: Forget 'The Hangover,' this is the greatest comedy of 2009.

What It's About: Realizing he is thoroughly unsatisfied with his once-promising life, a recently divorced, lovably uncool pharmaceutical salesman (Matthew Perry) quits his job. He soon meets a janitor with magical powers who transforms him into his younger self, when he bore an exact resemblance to 'High School Musical' star Zac Efron.
It's Kind of Like: 'Big,' for tweens
What We Say: After a horrendous opening that includes an inexplicable 'HSM'-like musical number, this fantastical teen comedy settles into inoffensive, reasonably amusing territory. 'Reno 911' copper Thomas Lennon -- who also makes a hilarious cameo in 'I Love You, Man' -- steals the movie as Perry/Efron's best friend, a fanboy in a fully grown man's body.

What It's About: Based on the 2006 novel 'Entre les murs,' it's the decidedly familiar -- but not any less inspirational -- story of inner-city teacher François Marin (François Bégaudeau, playing himself, and here in Paris), who urges his underprivileged students to strive for grandeur.
It's Kind of Like: 'Dangerous Minds' – the French, award-winning, documentary-style version
What Critics Say:Laurent Cantet's drama, which won Best Picture at Cannes and earned an Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Film, was lavished with praise from critics, earning an exceptional 97 percent approval rating on RottenTomatoes. Critics from the Los Angeles Times and Chicago Tribune both named it the second best movie of 2008.
