Bill CondonWith the latest mega-star movie musical performing below expectation, you might conclude 'Nine' needed just one more. Namely, Bill Condon, who wrote the screenplay for 2002's Best Picture 'Chicago' and wrote and directed the Oscar-winning 'Dreamgirls'.

Condon -- who also supervised the tuneful Hugh Jackman-hosted Academy Awards last year -- will bring another musical to the screen. According to Deadline/Hollywood, he'll adapt Arthur Phillips' novel 'The Song is You,' published last year to great acclaim. Lawrence Mark will produce. 'Song' centers on Julian, a commercial director carrying on an unusual romance with a younger singer whose music he can't get out of his mind.
