Christoph Waltz in Inglourious BasterdsWelcome to the Moviefone Oscars Movie Club, where we discuss an Oscar-nominated film every week. This week: 'Inglourious Basterds.'

Quentin Tarantino's movies aren't always successful, nor are they universally beloved. For every cinephile who raves about the ambition and energy of 'Pulp Fiction,' there's another moviegoer who decries its over-the-top violence and vulgarity.

That's why the success of 'Inglourious Basterds' is almost surprising, especially considering that Tarantino's recent movies ('Death Proof,' 'Jackie Brown') haven't fared too well at the box office. 'Basterds,' however, has done well both critically and financially, with some even declaring the movie -- which is (nominally) about an squad of Jewish-American soldiers dedicated to killing Nazis -- to be Tarantino's best.

The movie's earned Oscar nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor (Christoph Waltz). What are its chances, and does it deserve the hype? Watch editors Denise, Kevin, Mike and Patricia chat about the movie, Waltz's performance and how 'Basterds' ranks among their favorite Tarantino films -- and then weigh in with your own thoughts in the comments section.
