For a filmmaker, getting nominated for an Oscar is nirvana. Literally so, in the case of Oren Moverman. 'The Messenger,' which he directed and co-wrote, barely made a blip at the box office, but now that he's been nominated (along with Alessandro Camon) for Best Original Screenplay, the job offers are coming his way. First up: a chance to rewrite and direct a Kurt Cobain biopic for Universal.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Moverman is in talks to revise and direct David Benioff's screenplay about the Nirvana frontman. The project, which has been in development for several years, is being co-produced by Cobain's widow, Courtney Love, andis based on Charles R. Cross' biography of Cobain, 'Heavier Than Heaven.'
