Kevin James'Paul Blart: Mall Cop' may not have been a critical darling, but it proved former sitcom star Kevin James can carry the box office on his own.

Now, Universal Pictures is hoping he can remind Vince Vaughn how it's done (Vaughn's critically-panned 2009 comedy 'Couples Retreat' drowned in theaters).

According to the Hollywood Reporter, James is currently in talks to appear opposite Vaughn in an untitled comedy about cheating. Ron Howard, who hasn't directed a comedy since 'EDtv' in 1999, is set to helm the project, with a script penned by Allan Loeb. While Howard's comedic chops may sound rusty, remember that he did produce and narrate 'Arrested Development.'
