Get the Kleenex ready for another Nicholas Sparks adaptation.

Just weeks after the release of the war-torn love story 'Dear John', Variety reports that Scott Hicks -- who received an Oscar nomination for directing 1996's 'Shine' -- is in talks to direct the big screen version of another Sparks book: 'The Lucky One,' about a Marine who sets out to meet a mystery woman who he believes magically kept him safe throughout his three tours in Iraq.

The film will be produced by Denise Di Novi and Kevin McCormick, the duo behind such Sparks adaptations as 'Nights in Rodanthe,' 'A Walk to Remember' and 'Message In a Bottle'.
