One of the most methodical and cerebral horror films of all time, Stanley Kubrick's 'The Shining'
has creeped audiences out for 30 years now. The film follows Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson
) and clan as they spend one long winter caretaking for the ominous Overlook Hotel. As the winter rages on, trapping them inside the large and empty hotel, Jack either slowly goes insane from cabin fever or is driven to madness by something otherworldly at the Overlook. Kubrick used the real-life Timberline Lodge, located in the mountains of Oregon, to capture the horror of the Overlook Hotel.
