Life imitated art this weekend for 'Clash of the Titans,' as the movie about monster hunters killed at the box office, knocking 'How to Train Your Dragon' from the top spot in a fierce battle over the nation's limited 3D resources.

Drawing a strong $61.4 million over the weekend, 'Clash' rode a holiday surge to capture the top spot on this weekend's charts, though the figure fell short of the $70 million opening the similarly themed '300' pulled in back in 2007. While 'How to Train Your Dragon' remained competitive, dropping only 33 percent to $29.2 million thanks to the Easter crowd and strong word of mouth, the shortage of 3D theaters undoubtedly hurt the film, as it slipped into third position behind the surprisingly robust $30.1 million earned by the debut of 'Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married Too?'.
