UPDATE: According to a new report over at Deadline New York, Sony has denied Hitflix's claims that Logan Lerman is "almost 100% locked" to the part of Spider-Man in Marc Webb's franchise reboot. They say Lerman is not getting the role, and he's not on the list of actors being considered. No other actors have been mentioned at this time.

Ever since news broke that Sony wouldn't be bringing Sam Raimi, Tobey Maguire, and Kirsten Dunst back for the fourth Spider-Man film, speculation has swirled about what young star might be cast as the new web-slinger. It appears as though we could finally have an answer.
HitFix scored an exclusive tonight stating that Percy Jackson's Logan Lerman is the front-runner to take on the role of Peter Parker in the franchise reboot. Sources tell the site that Lerman is "almost 100% locked," but adds that contract negotiations haven't yet begun. Should he land the role, Lerman will have beaten out a group of contenders including Anton Yelchin, Jesse Eisenberg, Johnny Simmons and Patrick Fugit.
