Todd BridgesDiff'rent Strokes star Todd Bridges has claimed that much-loved teen movie director John Hughes offered him a role in The Breakfast Club, which was then withdrawn because he didn't know how to 'write for blacks'.

In an interview to discuss his new autobiography 'Killing Willis: From Diff'rent Strokes to the Mean Streets to the Life I Always Wanted', Bridges says that he sat next to Hughes (who died last year) on a flight and Hughes told him he had the perfect role for him and that he should see his partner in LA. Apparently, when Bridges arrived for the meeting, the partner took a good long look then turned him away, stating 'we don't know how to write for blacks.'
