Last time we heard anything about a film adaptation of Stephen King's Dark Tower series, it was the disappointing news that JJ Abrams and his Lost team were giving up on the project. When that story broke, those of us who'd been following the lengthy quest to get the series to the big screen sighed and assumed this meant another few years of nothing happening with the property. We were wrong.

Deadline is reporting that Ron Howard and Akiva Goldsman are now involved in the project, which would see three feature films made and a TV series as well. Goldsman will write the script, while Howard will direct. His Imagine Entertainment partner Brian Grazer will co-produce alongside Goldsman and King.
