A timeless depiction of post-collegiate aimlessness, 1967's 'The Graduate' continues to inspire young generations to find purpose in something (anything!). The film tells the story of Benjamin Braddock (Dustin Hoffman), a 20 year-old graduate with no idea what to do and no desire to figure it out. Ben is happy to waste his time by having a hilariously awkward affair with the older, very married Mrs. Robinson (Anne Bancroft). His life gets more complicated when he meets Mrs. Robinson's daughter Elaine (Katharine Ross), and genuinely falls for her. Despite her attraction to Ben, Elaine is unsure if she can look past his relationship with her mother. Eventually, she gives in to her father's wishes and is rushed to Santa Barbara for a marriage to her classmate Carl. Benjamin finds out and races to the church to try to stop the wedding.
