Gordon BrownAs the nation gets ready to vote, 16 major players in the British film industry have come out in support of the Labour party.

Slumdog Millionaire director, Danny Boyle, movie legend, Lord Richard Attenborough, Oscar-winning actress, Emma Thompson and Bourne Identity filmmaker, Paul Greengrass, are among those backing Gordon Brown's Labour government in a letter published by The Guardian.

In the letter, the 16 signatories note the huge economic impact the current government has made on the British film industry, claiming they have invested £665 million through the UK Film Council since they came to power in 1997, alongside tax relief to aid film production in the UK.
