Acclaimed British director Ken Loach is making a last minute return to his home away form home, the Cannes Film Festival, where his Iraq War drama 'Route Irish' has been accepted as a surprise late addition.

According to Variety, Loach, who originally had intended to sit out the festival, recently changed his mind and screened the film for Cannes head Thierry Fremaux among others. The movie, which "tells the story of two ex-soldiers in love with the same woman who head to Iraq to work as private contractors," takes place in both England and Iraq, where the titular road connects the coalition airport with the Green Zone.
