Last week, we talked about the newest poster for Inception, Christopher Nolan's upcoming mind-bending summer thriller. That same day, the new trailer briefly premiered as part of an online viral marketing game before vanishing off the face of the web (although it did grace some prints of Iron Man 2). Now, the trailer is available via Yahoo for one and all to see and my-oh-my, it is a thing of absolute beauty.
This is the first trailer to delve into plot details, but it doesn't (I hope) seem to give too much away. The basic gist seems to be that Leonardo DiCaprio leads a team who can venture into people's dreams and steal their ideas. Sounds like Ocean's 11 re-imagined by Michel Gondry but directed as a $200 million action film. And yes, that's a compliment.
This wild project definitely feels like an expensive Thank You gift from Warner Bros. to Nolan after The Dark Knight became one of the highest grossing films of all time. Why do I think this? Maybe because...GASP!...the whole thing feels completely original, looks stunning and seems like it's coming from the heart and mind of its artistic creator rather than a studio's financial department.
Watch the trailer after the jump. You won't regret it! div>
