The Parker homestead in the holiday classic movie 'A Christmas Story' was set in Hammond, Indiana, but the real-world home that sat in for the movie house is in Cleveland, Ohio. And though the flick was a modest money earner when it was released in theaters in 1983, it became a beloved holiday viewing tradition on TV and DVD, so much so that one fan, a San Diego businessman named Brian Jones, bought the Ohio house for $150,000 in a 2004 eBay auction. Jones spent an additional quarter of a million dollars to turn the 'A Christmas Story' house into a replica of the Parkers' movie home, from the detailed interior to the wood siding outside and, of course, a leg lamp in the front window, and even bought a house across the street to serve as the official 'A Christmas Story' House Museum.
