Over the last four decades, National Lampoon has become an internationally recognized brand that has helped popularize low-brow humor and introduced the world to some of its biggest comedy stars. But can even National Lampoon get the movie-going public to go see a documentary?

Well, we're about to find out: According to The Hollywood Reporter, filmmakers Douglas Tirola (pictured) and Susan Bedusa have inked a deal with National Lampoon to create a documentary about the comedic institution, which will "tell the story of National Lampoon from its beginnings as the Harvard Lampoon, through its days as a publishing sensation and Hollywood heavyweight, to its eventual downfall and into its rebirth and refocus as a multimedia company."
