- Remember what we all thought when Heath Ledger was cast as The Joker? I'm feeling the same skepticism regarding the rumor (officially denied, of course) that Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in talks to play the villain in the next Batman movie. Hollywood Life hears the actor "is definitely on the short list" for the role of The Riddler, which would reunite him with his Inception director, Christopher Nolan. And maybe for consistency, future installments of the series can give us Julia Stiles as Catwoman, David Krumholtz as The Penguin, Larry Miller as Ventriloquist, Gabrielle Union as Harley Quinn and Allison Janney as Lady Shiva. In other Batman 3 rumors, Nolan will allegedly begin shooting the thing in March.

- Paramount is producing a Japanese remake of Ghost because, well, apparently the Japanese only like watching their own movies these days (they consider reading subtitles "a hassle," just like us!). And of course the original only grossed about $50 million there 20 years ago. I guess they don't have their own equivalent of Patrick Swayze, however, so South Korean actor Song Seung Hun will take on the role. Given that "Unchained Melody" is a karaoke standard in Japan, I expect the tune to reprise its theme-song role.
