The BP oil disaster in the Gulf Coast has gotten so wildly out of control that nothing surprises us anymore. After 50-plus days of failed recovery efforts -- with no end in sight -- and everyone from James Cameron to Kevin Costner coming up with ways to stop the leak, now we just shrug our shoulders and say "sure, why not?"

Damon Lindelof, writer and co-creator of 'Lost' and a producer on the rebooted 'Star Trek' film series, has become the latest celebrity to offer his own solution -- via Esquire's politics blog -- on how to fix the oil spill. And the man's solution is a decidedly cinematic approach that not only promises to fix this environmental disaster, but will satisfy the legions of 'Lost' fanatics who are desperately craving a taste of new creativity from their lord and master.
