A lot of people are wondering when the film industry's fascination with 3D is going to end. Well, with today's news I think we might finally have our answer: Ed Wood Jr.'s Plan 9 From Outer Space is getting converted into 3D. Surely transforming one of the worst films ever made - a film about aliens whose plan to invade earth involves vampires and resurrecting the dead - into 3D is a sign that the craze is either A) in its death throes or B) never, ever, ever going away.

PassmoreLab, a 3D conversion studio based out of San Diego, will be handling the update ahead of its (limited) theatrical release later this summer. Yes, Plan 9 From Outer Space, Now in 3D! is coming to theaters at the end of this summer. Check out the full press release below.
