Daniel Radcliffe is headed for a different sort of battlefield after 'Harry Potter': the talented young actor has been picked to play the lead in an updated version of the Oscar-winning Best Picture 'All Quiet on the Western Front,' according to Variety. The film, which was adapted from the anti-war WWI book by Erich Maria Remarque and was directed by Lewis Mileston in 1930, tells the story of a young German soldier fighting in the trenches of France. Radcliffe would play the sympathetic German character. Shooting is scheduled for the spring of 2012.
