I'm still not convinced that The Social Network -- a film starring Jesse Eisenberg that recounts the creation of Facebook -- is going to be good, but I'll watch almost anything directed by David Fincher, so I was already sure I'd go see it. Now comes news that Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor and frequent collaborator Atticus Ross will provide the film's score. Suddenly, this project seems slightly more interesting ...

Fincher is apparently a Reznor fan, as the director used the Nine Inch Nails song Closer over the opening credits to Se7en back in 1995. However, this time out, Reznor and Ross will provide a full score for the film -- and not just license the use of a single track.

The musician broke the news through a message on the Nine Inch Nails website. "I've always loved David's work but quite honestly I wondered what would draw him to tell that story. When I actually read the script and realized what he was up to, I said goodbye to that free time I had planned." Reznor goes on to add that the film is "really f***ing good. And dark!"
