You didn't have to be Sherlock Holmes to figure out that Robert Downey Jr's version of the iconic detective would be returning to theaters: considering the film made an impressive $516 million worldwide against just a $90 million production budget, the question wasn't if, it was when. Now thanks to trusty sidekick Watson, we know the answer.

Yes, Empire magazine is reporting that Jude Law, who played Dr. Watson in 'Sherlock Holmes' last Christmas, has spilled the beans regarding the sequel's shooting schedule, and all clues point towards an October start. That should give director Guy Ritchie plenty of time to meet Warner Bros. announced release date of December 16, 2011.

"It looks likely that we're going to shoot the second 'Sherlock Holmes' in October," Law said, but while he hinted that announcements would be forthcoming regarding some surprise casting moves, he seemed to still be in the dark himself about just what those new mystery actors would be doing in the sequel.
