When Captain America: The First Avenger finally hits the screens next year, fans will finally see the WWII super soldier battle The Red Skull and his cronies on the glamorous streets of... Manchester? What?!

Don't expect to see the good Captain drinking in Coronation Street's Rovers Return though. According to the BBC, filming for the Marvel production will move to the city in September; the reason is that Manchester's Northern Quarter perfectly recreates the look and feel of 1940's New York, due to it's pre-war architecture.
