Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell in 'The Other Guys'Good dancing in theaters this weekend: either the literally in-your-face choreography of 'Step Up 3-D' or comedy cop Mark Wahlberg's surprisingly accomplished ballet moves in 'The Other Guys.'

Best Bet: 'The Other Guys'

Starring: Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Michael Keaton, Eva Mendes, Steve Coogan, Dwayne Johnson, Samuel L. Jackson
Directed by: Adam McKay

What It's About:
Ferrell and Wahlberg are much-scorned desk jockeys in the New York Police Department. But when the city's two most celebrated cops, a pair of 'Lethal Weapon'-type showboaters (Johnson and Jackson), are put out of commission, it's up to our unlikely heroes to save the day -- if they can keep from killing each other first.

Why Should You See It?
As usual, Ferrell does his best comic work when McKay is directing (see 'Anchorman,' 'Talladega Nights,' 'Step Brothers'). He and Wahlberg strike up an unusual but effective comic chemistry. The film wittily parodies buddy-cop movie clichés while offering satisfying action spectacles. It contains a surprisingly pointed and political subtext about the biggest crimes committed in New York - on Wall Street. (Make sure you stay all the way through the end credits.) Did I mention that it's really funny?
