Grab your vine and start revving up your lung muscles, because a new 'Tarzan' adaptation is getting ready to swing into theaters and it's got a new twist to shout about: 3-D.

Yes, according to Variety, Germany's Constantin Films has acquired the animation rights to the popular 'Tarzan' novels from the estate of author Edgar Rice Burroughs and is planning to update the famous jungle lord by staging his next onscreen adventure in 3-D. The new feature, which will be produced by Constantin's Robert Kulzer and Reinhard Klooss and which will be released in English, is likely aiming for a 2012 release date in order to capitalize on interest during 'Tarzan's' 100th anniversary.
