The 'Damages' star is prepping to cozy up to James McAvoy's young Professor Xavier as his love interest, scientist and genetic mutation expert Moira MacTaggert, in the next 'X' flick, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie will feature a number of young actors -- including Alice Eve, Jennifer Lawrence, Caleb Landry Jones, and Nicholas Hoult – playing young versions of Marvel's famous mutants. Rose won't be the first actress to take on the role. 'Dollhouse' and 'Rushmore' star Olivia Williams played MacTaggert in 2006's 'X-Men: The Last Stand.'

Rose previously appeared in 'Troy,' 'Get Him to the Greek' and director Danny Boyle's genre efforts 'Sunshine' and '28 Days Later.'
