Bored of the psychic octopus but need a new fix of animals with uncanny powers? Well, your luck's in as Variety is reporting a film is in the works based on the extraordinary talents of Oscar - the death predicting cat.

Five-year old Oscar lives in the Steere House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Providence, Rhode Island and has the ability to predict which patients are hours away from death. Staff at the center, which provides care for people with advanced dementia, noticed that Oscar would hold a vigil by curling up on a patient's chest. Sure enough, hours later the patient would pass away.

A best selling book, 'Making the Rounds With Oscar: The Extraordinary Gift of an Ordinary Cat', is now being adapted by screenwriters Luis Ugaz and Stephen Lindsey (who has previous animal form with 'Hachi: A Dog's Tale', a 2009 Richard Gere yawnfest about canine/human love) for Anonymous Content and Wind Dancer Films.
