Steve Carell became a sensation when he played The 40-Year-Old Virgin. His cheery, sex-less Andy Stitzer won us all over and made the man a star. It also set him on a path of romantic dysfunction. He found himself dumped in Little Miss Sunshine, widowed and lusting for his brother's girlfriend in Dan in Real Life, and having a really crappy Date Night earlier this year. And on the way, just to add to the turmoil, he plays a father dealing with his children during a marital crisis in Crazy, Stupid, Love.

One would think that this is enough lovey dovey dysfunction for now, but Carell seems to be the go-to guy for this sort of fare, and now he's gearing up for yet another. This time, he'll be playing a man who wants to find a boyfriend for his wife.
Variety reports that Warner Bros. is remaking the 2008 Argentine romcom Un novio para mi mujer into A Boyfriend for My Wife, which Carell will produce and star in. The original film focuses on "a timid husband [who] believes the only way out of his stifling marriage is to get his wife to fall in love with another man, so he enlists the help of a legendary yet unlikely Lothario."

Between the films he's made and what's on his plate -- he's also got Mail Order Groom, another strange marital comedy on the way -- he's definitely got his niche. But fear not, Carell fans. There are a lot of projects in the works that the actor has been circling, including a golf comedy and the currently mysterious Raised by Wolfs.

If you've seen the original, let us know. Should this film get a U.S. remake, and is this the right role for Carell?
