It was inevitable, really. Deadline is reporting that Ryan Murphy, the man behind the hit Fox television series 'Glee,' has been approached to helm a remake of the 1975 musical, 'Rocky Horror Picture Show.' In this age of prequels and sequels and remakes, it was only a matter of time before a property this iconic was pulled out of retirement for another gig.

'Rocky Horror Picture Show' has become so famous, so ingrained into popular culture since its rise as a midnight movie cult favorite that many people forget how strange it really is (and many more think they've seen it, but really haven't). The rock and roll musical story of Janet and Brad finding themselves stranded at macabre mansion and encountering Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a mad scientist and "sweet transvestite from Transsexual, Transylvania," is one of the weirdest films to ever find such enduring popularity, with infamously wild screenings continuing to this day. Who would have thought that a sexually-driven sci-fi B-movie musical parody with Tim Curry in drag on the poster would become so beloved?
