The Three StoogesLess than a month ago, Jim Carrey declared that 'The Three Stooges' movie was dead -- at least to him. Now the project has come roaring back to life, according to Deadline, complete with directors Peter and Bobby Farrelly, an approved script, producers in place, and a start date set for March 14, 2011. Now all they need are stooges.

At one point Carrey, Sean Penn and Benicio Del Toro appeared to be set to star. Since then, Carrey bowed out, based on health concerns he had about gaining 80 pounds for the role. (Actually, he was O.K. with gaining the first 40 pounds, but he was afraid those last 40 pounds would be a killer.) Sean Penn is out, because he's Sean Penn. And, post-'The Wolfman,' nobody knows about Benicio Del Toro. The Farrelly brothers say they're ready to cast major movie stars or complete unknowns; they're intent on making a PG-rated nonstop physical comedy and need actors to convince the world that they are Moe Howard, Larry Fine and Curly Howard.
