With the next installment gearing up for a May 20, 2011 release, it's time to see some action from Disney's upcoming 3D sequel, 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,' before the official trailer debuts online on December 13th, and then in theaters with 'Tron: Legacy' on December 17th.

This time it's not Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow chatting to the camera to tease the new pirate extravaganza, but rather an actual look at production. Entertainment Tonight was invited to the set and they offer up a bunch of peeks at Sparrow and his new co-star Penelope Cruz (as Angelica) as they wave goodbye to the old trio format (Depp, Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom), hit stranger tides and look for the fountain of youth.

Hit the jump to check it out.

It's almost six minutes of pre-trailer peeks, though much of the piece is padded with "Exclusive" signifiers and intros and teasers, as the above clip is every little morsel of drunken pirate goodness from the program.

You might notice at the end of the exclusive that the Depp-on-the-carriage scenes in London took 2 weeks to make. This is the same bit said to have been whittled down from 12 days to 4-6 in May when word hit that the production had to move forward with a more modest budget. Did they find some extra dubloons?

More importantly, how are you feeling about a 'Pirates' sequel that gets rid of the Will and Elizabeth dalliances and focuses on the swagger of Sparrow? Can Cruz fill the shoes of Bloom and Knightley? Will release number four find the fountain of youth and keep the series young and kicking?
