After days of wassailing and nights of figgy pudding, it's probably safe to assume that you, like us, are ready to get busy watching some movies. After weeks of holiday movies playing on silver screens across the country, it's probably a welcome change to find some year-round or altogether random fare playing at repertory houses. Not to mention, a movie is a great way to ring in the new year, especially if you don't go in for watching the ball drop with your best guy or gal at a buddy's house. But despite most theaters' prudent decision to show nothing at all on New Year's Eve in anticipation of other sorts of festivities, we've collected a slim selection of celebratory cinematic experiences for you to choose from.
But before we get to the stuff we think you should see elsewhere in the country, we would like to remind you to please leave comments and send in emails with any suggestions you may have for events, screenings, or other opportunities film fans may have to share with others in their celebration of the medium. Also, when and if you attend any of the events listed below, please let us know about your experiences, and let the organizers know where you found out about it!
