We don't know what it's about yet, but we do know it's racking up one helluva cast. Deadline reports that Jodie Foster has just joined Matt Damon and Sharlto Copley in Neill Blomkamp's 'District 9' follow up, 'Elysium'. All we know about the film is that it's definitely science fiction, and may or may not take place on another planet, depending on which random Blomkamp quote you listen to. While he's talked about a violent sci-fi idea that's set on another planet, he's also mentioned one that's wrapped up in sociopolitical ideas and takes place in two different cities (neither of which is South Africa).

When you tie that last one to a recent Blomkamp-directed viral video released through Wired, it certainly seems like it's 'Elysium', which, in the dictionary, is a term from Greek mythology that talks of "the place at the ends of the earth to which certain favored heroes were conveyed by the gods after death." In noun form, it's "a place or state of perfect happiness." Do these definitions have anything to do with the plot? Maybe, maybe not, but hopefully we'll get a bit more of a taste in the coming weeks.
