The cast for the long-gestating 'The Hobbit' is firming up with the announcement Monday that Andy Serkis and Ian McKellan will reprise their roles of Gollum and Gandalf, respectively, in Peter Jackson's take on the J.R.R. Tolkien classic.

According to a report at Deadline,Christopher Lee is in talks to reprise the wizard Saruman and Ian Holm may return as an older version of Bilbo Baggins.
Also returning are Elijah Wood and Cate Blanchett.

Martin Freeman stars as the young Bilbo.

The two-part movie begins filming in New Zealand this month. Part one will hit theaters Dec. 19, 2012, with the second entry due in December 2013
