Woody Allen's 'Midnight in Paris' will open this year's Cannes Film Festival. The romantic comedy stars Owen Wilson, Marion Cotillard, Rachel McAdams, Kathy Bates, Michael Sheen, Adrien Brody, Nina Arianda, Corey Stoll, Mimi Kennedy, Kurt Fullerby, Carla Bruni and Léa Seydoux.

• Disney is bringing in 'Toy Story 3' screenwriter Michael Arndt to pen 'Snow and the Seven' (which has been floating around the studio for nearly a decade now), an action-adventure movie that transplants the 'Snow White' premise to 19th-century mainland China, replacing the dwarves with warriors.

Akiva Goldsman, the always-busy producer/screenwriter, has signed on with Warner Bros. to make his directorial debut with 'Winter's Tale,' an adaptation of Mark Helprin's 1983 novel about 19th-century Manhattan.

David O. Russell tells Empire that he would love for the love interest in his film adaptation of the PS3 game 'Uncharted' to be played by either Scarlett Johansson or Amy Adams.
