The day after the Oscars is always a slow one in Hollywood ... most of the dealmakers (agents and studio execs) slept in after a night partying around at the Governors Ball and assorted venues around town. Still, there were a few tidbits of news, such as these casting notes.

Girl next door Mandy Moore has signed on to star in 'Falling Slowly,' a supernatural drama about a couple whose apartment is haunted by a dark presence. The film will be the directorial debut of 'Buried' writer Chris Sparling. Also cast in the film is Rodrigo Santoro, who played a supporting role in 'I Love You Phillip Morris' and voices a character in the upcoming animated 'Rango.' [Variety].
Melissa Leo and Jesse Eisenberg will star in 'Predisposed,' an indie comedy that takes a macabre look at the unhealthy relationship between a drug-addicted mother (Leo) and her college-bound son (Eisenberg), set on the day of both his interview at Julliard and her planned arrival in rehab. Malin Akerman is talking with Nu Image/Millennium Films to take the lead role opposite Nicolas Cage in 'Medallion,' an action thriller directed by Simon West about a former master thief who has only a few hours to find his daughter when she is kidnapped and locked in the trunk of a New York medallion taxi cab. Akerman will play Cage's former girlfriend and former bank robber who agrees to help him save his daughter. [THR]
