Move over, Peter Murphy!

Bela Lugosi might be dead and Bauhaus might be gone, but the cinematic vampire world continues to thrive, and another old-school icon is about to get into the blood-sucking movie business. According to Badass Digest sources, Trent Reznor -- a recent Academy Award winner for 'The Social Network' -- is not only going to score but also act in Timur Bekmambetov's upcoming film adaptation'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.'

The old NIN front-man won't be playing Honest Abe; that role's gone to Benjamin Walker. Instead, much like Murphy's stint in 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,' Reznor will play a vampire with a pretty important role in history ...
He kills Abe's mom.

Though many fans are already upset that Reznor has moved on from the rage and become happy (shudder), it will probably be an added blow for those who want to keep their music gods away from modern teen fare. And it's a bit of a surprising move for Trent Reznor, Oscar winner. It should mean good things for the film's score, but we'll have to wait and see. If this rumor comes to fruition, can Reznor can tap into his dark past and become a proper bloodsucker?
