The five-studio bidding match ended with a Warner Bros win. What it won -- for a price tag of just under $2 million, up front -- was the rights to an incomplete, and yet-untitled script for the movie by screenwriter Dan Fogelman according to Deadline. Fogelman, who will receive a little over $3 million upon the film's completion, will bring on Tom Cruise to star, as a politician whose reputation is ruined by a marital affair

Fogelman seems to be a sure thing. Writer of the animated films 'Bolt,' 'Tangled,' and 'Cars,' his latest movie, 'Crazy, Stupid, Love' was purchased by Warner Bros for $2.5 million, and is all set to be a big release this summer. He recently sold 'Imagine,' staring Steve Carrell, to Warner Bros for $3 million, and also intends to direct it. Also in the works for Fogelman is the direction of an adaptation of Jesse Andrews novel 'Me & Earl & The Dying Girl.' 'My Mother's Curse' another of his scripts, is currently in production.
In the meantime all eyes are on his upcoming and much anticipated release of 'Crazy, Stupid, Love,' a romantic, marital-crisis summer-flick about a family coming undone due to infidelity, and staring Steve Carell, Julianne Moore and Ryan Gosling. Check out the trailer below.

'Crazy, Stupid, Love' opens on July 29.
