'Saturday Night Live' funnyman Jason Sudeikis will host this years MTV Movie Awards. The comedian, who is making a major play at movie stardom with roles in 'Hall Pass' and the upcoming comedy 'Horrible Bosses,' follows in the footsteps of 'Parks and Recreation' star Aziz Ansari, who helped last year's telecast record over 100 curse words, prompting an apology from MTV.

"I'm sincerely flattered that the folks from the Mostly Teenage Viewers network have invited me to host this year, and I look forward to keeping the streak of flawless and critically lauded movie-award-show hosting in 2011 alive," Sudeikis joked. He is, of course, making light of the critical pounding Oscar hosts James Franco and Anne Hathaway received after this year's lethargic telecast and the backlash against Golden Globes host Ricky Gervais after he made several rough jokes at the expense of actors like Robert Downey Jr. and Angelina Jolie (both of whom were in the audience).
