Producers Will Ferrell and Adam McKay (director of 'Step Brothers' and 'Anchorman') have cast Kirsten Dunst, Lizzie Caplan ('Mean Girls,' 'Cloverfield'), former 'SNL' cast member Casey Wilson and 'Parks and Recreation' star Adam Scott in their new indie comedy tentatively titled 'Bachelorette.'

Leslye Headland wrote the script and is set to make her feature directing debut with the $3-million-budgeted film.

Financing is currently being lined up, and Gary Sanchez Productions, Ferrell and McKay's company, is hoping to begin production this summer. Execs at Gary Sanchez first became aware of 'Bachelorette' when it was running as an off-Broadway play last summer.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the film tells the story of three best friends (Caplan and Dunst, with the third yet to be cast) asked to be bridesmaids at the wedding of a girl they referred to as "Pigface" in high school. Scott will play Caplan's high school crush, and Wilson is set to star as the former "Pigface," who has some exciting things in store for her three wicked bridesmaids.

The film will be a reunion for Scott and Caplan. They co-starred on Starz's critically adored but low-rated series 'Party Down.'
