In the wake of his current cheating scandal, beleaguered star Arnold Schwarzenegger has put the brakes on his return to acting.

The office of the actor and former governor issued a statement today saying, "Governor Schwarzenegger is focusing on personal matters and is not willing to commit to any production schedules or timelines. This includes 'Cry Macho,' 'The Terminator' franchise and other projects under consideration. We will resume discussions when Governor Schwarzenegger decides," his office said in a statement.

Vote on whether you think Arnold is doing the right thing -- or should take even more time off -- after the jump.
The press release did not mention the 'Governator' projects he had in the works, which were to include an animated TV series and film. The franchise was to feature Schwarzenegger as a superhero whose ordinary home life still involves wife Maria Shriver. Producers for the 'Governator' said yesterday that they didn't expect to make any changes to reflect the actor's current split from Shriver.

A producer for the drama 'Cry Macho' also expressed sentiments yesterday that the Schwarzenegger scandal wouldn't affect production, which was scheduled to begin August 24.
