Zach Galifianakis and his fellow groomsmen are back in 'The Hangover 2,' which opened this weekend. After the bachelor party that nearly cost their friend his marriage in the original 'Hangover,' the gang jets off to Thailand where they again make a series of poor decisions, this time ending up with a monkey rather than a tiger.

Most fans of Zach Galifianakis, who don't just know him as the fat guy from 'The Hangover' know that he was an underground stand-up comedian before becoming an huge movie star. But considering how far he's come, it's worth remembering that, before Galifianakis was hanging out with A-listers in Southeast Asia, he was a bit character in a Chris Kattan vehicle.
Many may not know -- or have chosen to forget -- that Galifianakis's film career dates back more then a decade. After playing tiny roles in movies like 'The King and Me,' 'Bubble Boy' and 'Corky Romano,' Galifianakis co-starred as the drunkest of a bunch of drunk snowboarders in 'Out Cold,' back in 2001.

Galifianakis finally broke his streak of bad movies with a small part in Sean Penn's critically acclaimed 'Into the Wild,' and before he got "hung over," the funnyman was in another Sin City–based comedy, 'What Happens in Vegas,' with Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher.

Then in 2009, director Todd Philips put Galifianakis on the map for good, casting him as the painfully awkward groomsman Alan in 'The Hangover.' The movie also helped turn co-stars Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms into leading men.

They didn't even have to get tased in the process.
