From ComicsAlliance: Moviegoers will get to know Hal Jordan (as played by Ryan Reynolds) pretty well as they watch his journey from test pilot to space cop in 'Green Lantern' on June 18, but his intergalactic co-stars are worth a closer look as well. Drill Sergeant Kilowog and the brilliant Tomar-Re will be among the most influential lanterns Jordan will meet during his orientation on the Green Lantern homeworld of Oa, making them prime aliens for further study.

Today, June 8, DC digs deeper into the movie backstories of these two Lanterns in the 'Green Lantern Movie Prequel: Kilowog' and 'Green Lantern Movie Prequel: Tomar-Re' one-shots. Get acquainted with the heroes with our exclusive first-look from DC Comics after the jump.
As we've seen in the Green Lantern movie trailers, Kilowog (as voiced by Michael Clarke Duncan) isn't afraid of getting his hands dirty in the name of forging new recruits. Fans have already observed the GL Corps' first human take something of a beating at the pug-nosed alien's hands, but the warrior only does it out of love. Tomar-Re (Geoffrey Rush), on the other hand, has a lighter touch. He's the first lantern to greet Hal Jordan on Oa and kindly introduce him to his new role as the chosen ring-slinger of space Sector 2814 with patience and poise.
