A few months ago, we gave you a first look at 'Brave,' Pixar's upcoming medieval movie about a skilled archer named Princess Merida (voiced by Kelly Macdonald) -- and now we finally get to see what she looks like.

In the film, Merida decides to defy an age-old custom, which ends up causing chaos in the Scottish highlands. Her choice forces her to turn to an old witch for help, who ends up granting the princess an ill-fated wish.

The photo of Merida comes on the heels of 'Cars 2' hitting number one at the box office this weekend with $68 million in ticket sales. Hit the jump to see our heroine, Merida, in action as well as the previously released teaser photos from the film.

Our first look at Merida is getting us excited for 'Brave.' We can't wait to check out the teaser trailer, which apparently played prior to 'Cars 2' this weekend. (We're still on the hunt for the trailer. The one video that was posted on YouTube was taken down by Disney.)

What do you guys think of Pixar's first female protagonist?
